Hiring: Backend Developer

* Salary: N200,000 - N350,000 + (Bonus)

We're looking for an experienced Backend Developer to build and maintain the server-side infrastructure that powers our mobile platform. You'll develop secure APIs, manage databases, optimise performance, and ensure our systems remain scalable, reliable, and secure as our user base grows. This is an opportunity to join a promising start-up with long term goals.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.

* Build secure authentication, user management, and role-based access systems.

* Design and optimise databases for performance and reliability.

* Integrate third-party services such as payment gateways, Firebase, email, SMS, analytics, and AI APIs.

* Ensure application security, data protection, and compliance with GDPR.

* Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise system reliability.

* Collaborate with mobile developers and UI/UX designers to deliver seamless user experiences.

* Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.

Essential Skills

* Strong experience with Node.js, NestJS, Express.js, or Laravel.

* Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.

* Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API security.

* Experience with Firebase services and cloud platforms.

* Knowledge of authentication protocols (JWT, OAuth).

* Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows.

* Familiarity with Docker and server deployment.

Desirable Skills

* Experience with DigitalOcean, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.

* Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

* Experience integrating AI services such as OpenAI APIs.

* Experience with Redis, message queues, or background job processing.

* Understanding of microservices architecture and scalable system design.
