Job Summary

We’re on the lookout for a dynamic and seasoned Corporate Banking Relationship Manager to dive into the Downstream sector within our commercial bank. The ideal candidate will take charge of building and nurturing banking relationships with clients in downstream industries, including refining, distribution, retail, and the marketing of oil, gas, and petrochemical products. Your role will involve crafting tailored financial solutions, evaluating sector-specific risks, and supporting the growth of our clients’ businesses while ensuring the bank remains profitable and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

Forge and maintain robust relationships with clients in the downstream sector, gaining a deep understanding of their financial needs and strategic goals.

Spot and cultivate new business opportunities within the downstream sector to boost the bank’s market presence.

Perform comprehensive financial analyses, conduct sector research, and carry out risk assessments tailored to downstream activities.

Offer personalized banking solutions, including working capital, trade finance, supply chain finance, and project financing.

Draft credit proposals, assist in the credit approval process, and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.

Keep an eye on the performance of existing credit facilities, managing risks while fostering strong client relationships.

Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic factors that impact downstream clients.

Collaborate with internal teams such as credit, legal, treasury, and risk management to provide seamless banking services.

Represent the bank at industry forums, client meetings, and networking events to showcase our services and grow the client base.

Qualifications & Skills:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a similar field is essential; a Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.

- You should have at least 5 years of experience in corporate banking, particularly in the downstream oil & gas, petrochemicals, or related industries.

- A solid grasp of financial analysis specific to the sector, along with expertise in trade finance, supply chain, and project finance, is crucial.

- Exceptional relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills are a must.

- You should have a proven track record of developing and expanding client portfolios while effectively cross-selling banking products.

- A thorough understanding of banking regulations, compliance, and risk management practices pertinent to the sector is necessary.
